Sit-down house rules

Last changed October 2, 2026 · Jilani Place, 295 The West Mall, 7th floor, Toronto

A sit-down is an evening when members of Jilani Place meet on the 7th floor, set up by one of them in the Floor app. These rules are for everyone at a sit-down: the member who set it, the members who take a seat, and any guest they bring.

  1. A sit-down is run by the member who set it. We don't screen members or supervise sit-downs.
  2. Treat everyone with respect. No harassment, threats or hate.
  3. Keep to the place and the time the sit-down was set for.
  4. A guest you bring is your guest. Tell them these rules before they come.
  5. Leave if you feel unsafe. If anyone is in danger, call 911.
  6. If something goes wrong, report the sit-down in the app. A person at the desk reads every report, and a member who breaks these rules can be suspended.

If you are a guest

A member invited you and gave you a day pass to come in on. They are your host for the evening, so find them when you arrive.

If anyone is in danger, call 911.

Guests have no app to report from. If something goes wrong, tell the member who invited you, or write to us at info@jilaniplace.com. Say which evening it was and what happened.
