Delete your Floor account
Effective Date: November 1, 2026
This page is for Floor by Jilani Place, the app from Jilani Place Inc. on the App Store and Google Play. In the app we call this closing your account. You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you without opening the app.
Close it in the app
- Open Floor by Jilani Place and go to the You tab.
- Tap Account at the top of the page.
- Tap Settings.
- Go to the end of the page and tap Close your account.
- Read what will go and what will stay, type your email address, and tap Close my account.
Closing is immediate, the app signs you out, and what it deletes cannot be brought back. If you sign in again later with the same email address, you start over with an empty page.
Ask us without the app
Email info@jilaniplace.com from the address on your account and say that you want your account closed. You do not need to install or open the app. A person here handles your request. We first confirm that it came from the address on your account, so that nobody else can close it, and then close the account for you. We answer within 30 days.
Before you close
You do not have to do anything first, but two things are worth knowing.
- Closing does not by itself cancel a membership, tenancy, subscription or paid mentorship, and it does not settle a balance. If one is running, a person at Jilani Place will settle it with you.
- We refund what is left in your wallet, your account credit, and points you bought and have not used (our Terms of Use, section 5).
What is deleted
- Your profile, and your posts, comments, replies, likes and follows.
- Your messages and the photos, clips and voice notes in them. What other people wrote stays with them. A conversation that everybody else has already left is deleted whole.
- Every photo, clip and voice note you uploaded, apart from a sealed copy (below) and a picture still in use on a business page that stays.
- The sign-in itself, your Apple and Google sign-in links, and your notification devices and preferences.
- Your résumé and your job applications.
- Your portfolio, the commissions you posted, the shop you kept, and your vouches for businesses.
- Your mentor page and licence, a connected calendar, and the access of any app you connected.
- Your Crown pours, and your name on past weeks. Optional activity linked to your account, and your product feedback records.
- The details on your Circle profile (your name, phone, company, birthday and address) are blanked, and a link between your phone number and Cafe 295 ends.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records stay, because the law asks for them, because they are proof of something, or because they are somebody else's record as well as yours. Closing takes your name out of some of them and leaves it on the rest. Before you confirm, the closing screen shows the main records that stay for you, and leaves out safety and legal records.
What stays with your name and email address
These records stay as they are. Closing does not take your name or email address off them, so each one still holds, or leads to, your name, your email address or both. Business records show who was billed, who paid and who used a room.
| What stays | How long |
|---|---|
| Business records: your customer record if you have one, rooms you booked, invoices, payments, signed agreements, the billing contacts and bookkeeper you gave us, your Circle points ledger and the rewards it paid for, your wallet and account credit records, and a mentor's earnings | 7 years, as Canadian tax and business records law requires |
| A room plan or print account, which closing the app account does not end, with its bills | With the business records above |
| A mentor's tax details, the slips filed for them and the mentor agreement they signed | Six years after the last year we reported to the Canada Revenue Agency. If you never earned as a mentor, your tax details are deleted when you close and only the agreement stays |
| A mentor's payout details, with their page taken down | While a mentorship they give is running, or while we still owe them |
| Your support requests, your conversations with our desk, and a note that you closed | Two years after you close, or after the last message on them if that is later; one still open, until it is resolved. Then the email address on them is replaced with a one-way code made from it |
| Proof of what you agreed to: which Terms and when, and what you agreed to receive by email and when you stopped | Kept as a permanent record |
| The images of your ID and selfie from an online ID check, held by our verification provider | 30 days after the check, whether or not you close, then the provider is asked to delete them |
| The photograph of an identity document checked in person | While the agreement it was taken for is active, then 2 years |
| The record that an ID check was done (no image) | With the business records above |
| The record of a copyright notice about something you posted | At least 6 months from the notice, or 12 months if the sender tells us within those 6 months that they have gone to court, as the Copyright Act requires |
| A sealed copy of something reported as involving a child, or that the police, a court or a safety report asks us to keep | 21 days for a police preservation demand, 90 days for a preservation order or a safety report, or as long as an order or the law requires. A person here releases it |
| A sealed copy of something we removed for breaking our Terms | Kept. No period is set yet |
| A mentorship, with what was said and paid inside it, because it is the other person's record too | Kept. No period is set yet |
| A reference, a job confirmation or a vouch you gave on somebody else's résumé. Its signed record keeps your email address and any name you gave, because changing it would make their résumé read as tampered with. People reading the résumé are not shown your address, and the signed record names you as a former member | Kept. No period is set yet |
| The address another member typed when they brought you as their guest, which is their record of their own gift | Kept. No period is set yet |
| The record that you linked your phone number to Cafe 295, and any points it moved | Kept. No period is set yet |
| Our records of a request from the police or a court, of a sit-down incident you were part of, and of each request you made about your information | Kept. No period is set yet |
| Your email address on a private list of closed accounts, and the permanent code that stood for you in links and reports, so that a sign-in made before you closed can never open the account again and the code never goes to anybody else | Kept. No period is set yet |
| A block or suspension somebody else placed on your account, or a hold our desk placed on your job postings. These are other people's decisions, and leaving does not lift them | Kept. No period is set yet |
| Server logs | Web server access logs, 14 days. Application logs, 90 days |
| Copies in our backups | They rotate out on their own, in about six months |
What stays with your name taken out
These records are somebody else's as well as yours. They stay, and your email address, which is what ties them to you, is replaced by an anonymous marker: a one-way code made from it, so that the records still add up. A gift you sent, a day pass you gave and a team seat also hold the name they were made with, and that name stays on them. No period is set yet for how long we keep these records.
- A paid job, an ask that was sorted, a gift, a day pass, a team seat, a drop you claimed, and a week you won at the Crown, where your name is removed as well
- A job you posted, a business page you made, and a lead, an introduction, an invitation, a referral or a purchase you made with a business page. What you wrote in a lead, an introduction or an invitation is removed
- A report you made about something that can hurt someone, while our desk is still dealing with it, and a report a sealed copy depends on. What you wrote in it stays. Any other report you made is deleted
- What we told you when we removed something of yours or suspended your account, and any appeal you made. What you wrote in an appeal is removed; what we decided stays
- A Check, or an approved claim to a business, where somebody else still runs that business. The papers, photos and details you gave us are deleted
The full detail is in section 14 of our Privacy Policy.
Delete some of your data and keep the account
- Delete a post, comment or message in the app, and its photo goes with it. We stop serving it at once. A phone or browser that already showed it may keep its own copy for up to a day.
- Tap Disconnect calendar in the app, or Forget my calendar on the web, to delete the saved connection and the meetings we read from it.
- Turn off Help improve Floor under Account, then Privacy & visibility. That stops new collection and removes the activity from that installation.
